By Jon Melville

Six months in the making, documentary film JIMMY follows a day in the life of disabled rights campaigner, Jimmy McIntosh, MBE, who campaigned for and won the vote for the institutionalised disabled and who has cerebral palsy himself.

Directed by Scottish BAFTA-winning director, Martin Smith, the film has already screened at the Sheffield Doc Fest and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Martin Smith talked to Jonathan Melville about the inspiration behind his film, the editing process and the difference between shooting drama and documentary.
